BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- The ground forces of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command conducted long-range live fire drills in the waters to the north of Taiwan Island at 9 a.m. Tuesday, said a military spokesperson.
Li Xi, spokesperson of the PLA Eastern Theater Command, noted that the drills achieved desired effects. ■
