TOKYO, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and three others injured on Tuesday in a multi-vehicle crash in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, according to police and fire officials.
The crash occurred at around 10:30 a.m. local time on a national highway in Tateyama City, Chiba. A truck collided with four passenger cars and a motorcycle, involving a total of six vehicles.
Rescue workers found four injured people at the scene. A man in his 50s was unconscious when he was taken to hospital, where his death was later confirmed. Of the remaining three injured, one is reported to be in serious condition.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. ■
