TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has held separate phone conversations with his Saudi and Emirati counterparts to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments, according to Iran's Foreign Ministry.
In his phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Sunday, Araghchi reviewed the growing Iran-Saudi relations.
Referring to developments in southern Yemen, Araghchi stressed the need to preserve Yemen's unity and territorial integrity and to implement a political roadmap to achieve lasting peace.
Araghchi also condemned Israeli attacks against Lebanon, highlighting the responsibility of the international community, particularly the guarantors of the ceasefire, to halt Israeli aggression and prevent further violations against the Lebanese people.
The Saudi foreign minister, for his part, emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation among regional countries to safeguard peace and stability, and stressed the need to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
In a separate phone call on Monday, Araghchi and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between the two countries and emphasized advancing issues of mutual interest.
On the developments in Yemen, Araghchi called on regional countries to make efforts to preserve Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity and to fulfill the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people, reiterating that a Yemeni-led dialogue centered on national unity is the solution to the crisis.
The Emirati foreign minister emphasized the need to maintain peace and stability in Yemen and the region, outlining the UAE's efforts to reduce tensions. ■
