ISLAMABAD, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces killed four terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in the Kalat district of the country's southwestern Balochistan province, the military said on Sunday.
The operation was conducted on Saturday, following reports about the presence of militants affiliated with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army, the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistani army, said in a statement.
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the militants' hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire in which the four terrorists were killed, the statement said.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the militants, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, it added.
The military said sanitization operations are underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the vicinity. ■
