ISLAMABAD, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has called for Pakistani and Chinese media to tell the story of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) well to spread friendship between the two countries and contribute to the construction of an Upgraded Version 2.0 of the corridor.

Themed "Strengthen Media Cooperation, Advance the Construction of the Upgraded Version 2.0 of the CPEC," the 9th CPEC Media Forum, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, was held on Wednesday in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Tarar said in his speech that since its launch in 2013, the CPEC has significantly improved Pakistan's infrastructure and created a large number of job opportunities. The Upgraded Version 2.0 of the corridor will focus on B2B agreements and attract more private capital. He looked forward to the media's continued attention and active promotion of the new development of the CPEC.

Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal, minister of state for climate change and environmental coordination, said that as an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Upgraded Version 2.0 of the CPEC will inject new momentum into the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan.

In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong expressed the hope that the media of both countries will closely follow the practice of the Upgraded Version 2.0 of the corridor, and become disseminators of the achievements of the corridor construction and promoters of the ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan.
