TOKYO, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended slightly higher Thursday amid thin trading, with many investors away for the Christmas holidays overseas.
The benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, ended up 63.69 points, or 0.13 percent, from Wednesday at 50,407.79.
The broader Topix index, meanwhile, finished 10.61 points, or 0.31 percent, higher at 3,417.98.
On the stock market, the benchmark Nikkei moved around the previous day's closing levels throughout the day, as many participants retreated to the sidelines with few fresh trading cues during the holidays, analysts said. ■
