KABUL, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Authorities have completed four major development projects so far this year in western Afghanistan's Farah province, while work on five other projects remains ongoing, the official media Bakhtar news agency reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the total cost of the projects exceeds 16 million U.S. dollars, funded through the government's development budget. The completed projects include the construction of bridges and culverts, aimed at improving public infrastructure and enhancing community services in the province.
Meanwhile, the ongoing projects involve road paving and the construction of water canal systems, the report said, adding that once completed, these initiatives are expected to contribute to urban development and stimulate economic activity in Farah province.
The projects are being implemented as part of broader efforts by the authorities to strengthen infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and promote sustainable development in the region. ■
