LIMA, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Piero Magallanes and Bassco Soyer struck late goals as Peru secured a 2-0 friendly win over Bolivia on Sunday.

Winger Magallanes gave the hosts the lead in Chincha Alta, south of Lima, with a 25-yard drive that slipped through the gloves of goalkeeper Geronimo Govea.

Nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder Soyer doubled the advantage three minutes later by tapping in from point-blank range after Juan Pablo Goicochea's cross.

Both Magallanes and Soyer were making their debuts for Peru, though the match wasn't counted as an official international fixture because it fell out of the FIFA-sanctioned dates for friendlies.

Peru missed the chance to reach next year's FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada after finishing ninth in the 10-team South American qualifying tournament.

Bolivia, which secured seventh place, will vie for one of two spots on offer in the intercontinental World Cup qualifying playoffs, to be held in Mexico in March.
