OTTAWA, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone call on Friday to discuss the conclusion of Canada's 2025 G7 presidency and the transition to France's leadership of the forum in 2026.
According to a readout from the prime minister's office, the two leaders reviewed key accomplishments, including efforts to enhance collective security, strengthen global energy security, accelerate digital transition, and build a more resilient global economy.
This was the seventh time Canada has held the rotating presidency. France will officially assume the G7 presidency on Jan. 1, 2026. ■
