NEW DELHI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange reserves rose by 1.689 billion U.S. dollars to 688.949 billion U.S. dollars in the week ending Dec. 12, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the country's central bank, said on Friday.
According to the RBI's data, the Foreign Currency Assets increased by 906 million U.S. dollars to 557.787 billion U.S. dollars, while the gold reserves rose by 758 million U.S. dollars to 107.741 billion U.S. dollars.
The country's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund also increased by 11 million U.S. dollars to 4.686 billion U.S. dollars during the same period. ■
