PARIS, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- France's central bank, Banque de France, on Friday raised its forecast for France's gross domestic product growth to 0.9 percent in 2025.
In its latest macroeconomic projections report, the bank said it now expects GDP in 2025 to expand at the rate it had initially projected in December 2024, as economic shocks have proved milder than expected despite ongoing budgetary uncertainty.
The forecast was lowered to 0.6 percent in June amid rising uncertainties, particularly the threat of U.S. tariffs.
The upward revision was mainly attributed to stronger activity in certain sectors, notably transport equipment production, including the aerospace industry, said the central bank.
Meanwhile, inflation is projected to drop sharply to 0.9 percent in 2025 from 2.3 percent the previous year, according to the bank. ■
