BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 jolted the South Sandwich Islands region at 1705 GMT on Wednesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 58.62 degrees south latitude and 25.09 degrees west longitude. ■
