ALMATY, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's economy grew by 6.4 percent in the first 11 months of the year, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said Wednesday.
The real sector expanded by 8.3 percent, surpassing the 5.3 percent growth in the services sector. Transport, construction and mining remained the main drivers of economic expansion, he said.
Trade turnover increased by 8.8 percent, agriculture grew by 6.1 percent, and manufacturing rose by 5.9 percent.
Investments in fixed assets climbed 13.3 percent to 18.5 trillion tenge (approximately 35.6 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, largely driven by private investment, which rose by 9.8 percent. The most notable growth was observed in finance, energy supply, education, information and communications, agriculture, manufacturing and transport, Zhumangarin added. ■
