NAIROBI, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- A celebration marking the 62nd anniversary of Kenya's independence was held at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi on Friday.
Jamhuri Day, or Independence Day, observed on Dec. 12 each year, is one of the most important national holidays in Kenya. Kenya gained independence from Britain on Dec. 12, 1963.
