MADRID, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona moved seven points ahead of Real Madrid on Saturday night with a 2-0 win at home to Osasuna.
Raphinha scored both of the goals in the second half after the visitors held Barcelona at bay for almost 70 minutes.
The Brazilian took a pass from Pedri to beat Sergio Herrera from outside of the penalty area in the 69th minute and was in the right place to slot home the second from a tight angle five minutes from time to assure the points.
The win piles the pressure on Real Madrid and its under-fire coach Xabi Alonso, who visit Deportivo Alaves on Sunday.
Atletico Madrid remains very much in the title race while making life difficult for Valencia at the wrong end of the table, with a 2-1 win in the Metropolitano stadium.
Koke put Atletico ahead in the 16th minute with a low right foot shot.
Lucas Beltran hit an excellent individual equalizer for Valencia just after the hour, but Antoine Griezmann won the game with just over 15 minutes left to play when he controlled a long ball and scored with a powerful left-foot shot.
Mallorca won 3-1 at home to Elche to climb away from the relegation zone after a bad error from Elche goalkeeper, Inaki Pena, who gifted the ball for Omar Mascarell to put Mallorca 2-1 with less than 10 minutes to play.
Manu Morlanes' deft finish had put Mallorca ahead after five minutes, before Pablo Maffeo put the ball into his own net before halftime.
The game looked to be heading for a draw before Pena's mistake, but Vedat Muriqi made the points safe with a header from Mascarell's cross with two minutes left to play.
Two goals in the last 15 minutes from Ukrainian forward, Viktor Tsygankov, gave Girona a vital 2-1 win away to Real Sociedad on Friday night to momentarily lift his side out of the bottom three.
Goncalo Guedes had put Real Sociedad ahead, but the team from San Sebastian failed to react to Tsygankov's opening goal and his smart backheel with four minutes left to play condemned the home side to its third consecutive defeat. ■
