TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and 17 others injured on Friday as a bus overturned on an intercity road in Iran's central Isfahan province, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The incident occurred while the bus was en route from Tehran, the capital of Iran, to Yasuj in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, when it veered off course and overturned, the report said.
Mansour Shishehforoush, director general of Isfahan's crisis management department, was quoted by state-run IRIB TV as saying that 12 rescue teams were immediately sent to the scene, and the injured were transferred to nearby medical centers.
Isfahan's traffic police said the driver's carelessness and failure to control the bus were the causes of the incident. ■
