BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Hokkaido, Japan, at 2209 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 39.7 km, was initially determined to be at 41.17 degrees north latitude and 142.89 degrees east longitude. ■
