TRIPOLI, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Libya's state-owned Libyan Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Holding Company on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia's Technology Link Services to strengthen collaboration in the telecommunications and information technology sectors.
The Libyan company said in a statement on its official Facebook page that the MoU was signed during a meeting between the leaders of both companies in Tripoli.
According to the statement, the MoU outlines cooperation in areas, including technical studies for upgrading national and urban telecom networks, assessing market needs for transmission capacities, and developing a regional connectivity strategy with neighboring African countries to strengthen Libya's role as a communications hub.
The agreement, it added, reflects the two sides' intention to build a strategic partnership that supports Libya's digital infrastructure and aligns with national digital transformation efforts.
Libyan Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Holding Company, established in 2005, is a government holding company overseeing major Libyan telecom operators, including Libyana, Almadar Aljadid, and Libya Telecom & Technology. ■
