BAGHDAD, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Four Iraqi cultural elements have been inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for 2025, Iraq's Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities announced Thursday.

The newly listed traditions are the Ramadan guessing game Muhaibis, the traditional men's outer garment Bisht, the ceremonial bridal procession Zaffa, and the eyeliner and social practice Arabic Kohl, the ministry said in a statement.

Deputy Minister Fadel al-Badrani said the inclusion reflects Iraq's status as a cradle of ancient civilizations.

He noted that Muhaibis was inscribed as a purely Iraqi element, while Iraq contributed to the Bisht listing as part of a joint Arab effort and also supported the Zaffa and Arabic Kohl nominations together with other countries.

Preserving such heritage helps connect the past with the present and build a better future, he added.
