India's forex reserves rise by over 1 bln USD

NEW DELHI, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves increased by 1.033 billion U.S. dollars to 687.26 billion dollars during the week ended Dec. 5, according to the country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on Friday.

During the previous two consecutive weeks, India's forex reserves had declined.

According to the RBI data, the Foreign Currency Assets had dipped by 151 million dollars to 556.88 billion dollars, while the Gold Reserves increased by 1.188 billion dollars to 106.98 billion dollars.

It further showed that the Special Drawing Rights increased by 93 million dollars to 18.721 billion dollars.
