BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.70 percent to 3,873.32 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.27 percent lower at 13,147.39 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.86 trillion yuan (about 263.14 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.78 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to aerospace and newly listed stocks led the gains, while the real estate sector suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.41 percent to close at 3,163.67 points. ■
