BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 1841 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 kilometers, was initially determined to be at 58.65 degrees south latitude and 24.80 degrees west longitude. ■
