KABUL, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Afghan counter-narcotics police have arrested 52 people on the charge of drug smuggling in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, the country's Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Sunday.
Police have detained the individuals allegedly involved in the sale, purchase and smuggling of the contraband during a series of separate operations conducted on the outskirts of Kabul, according to the statement.
A quantity of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, hashish and stimulant tablets, has been seized, the statement added. ■
