BUCHAREST, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- A no-confidence motion was submitted to Parliament on Friday, seeking the resignation of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's government, according to the country's national news agency Agerpres.

The Parliament's leadership has scheduled the motion to be presented in a joint session on Dec. 8, with debate and vote set for Dec. 15.

Initiated by the PACE - First Romania parliamentary group, the motion accuses the Bolojan government of failing to manage key sectors including finance, healthcare, education, social protection, justice and public administration.

Senate quaestor Ninel Peia, of PACE - First Romania, who filed the motion in both chambers and urged Social Democratic Party (PSD) lawmakers to support it, said the motion has been signed by 118 members of parliament from the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), PACE - First Romania and several independents.

A minimum of 232 votes is required for the motion to pass, per parliamentary regulations.

Speaking in Vienna on Thursday, Bolojan said the government would follow parliamentary procedure and that any no-confidence motion would show the level of support it holds.

In September, Bolojan's cabinet survived four opposition no-confidence motions triggered by five draft laws fast-tracked through Parliament.
