TRIPOLI, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A key coastal highway running through Libya's city of Zawiya, about 60 km west of the capital Tripoli, was completely shut down on Thursday evening following an exchange of fire between local armed groups, local media reported.
According to Al-Masar television channel, fighters from the 103rd Infantry Battalion, also known as "Al-Silaa," faced off against forces from Zawiya's First Support Force.
No information has been reported regarding casualties, and no official statements have been issued on the cause of the confrontation. ■
