LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is convening in Atlanta on Thursday and Friday to review and vote on a series of vaccine-related recommendations.

According to the agenda posted on the CDC's official website, Thursday's session is themed on Hepatitis B vaccines.

On Friday, the committee will consider updates to the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule and discuss issues related to aluminum exposure from vaccines, it said.

The committee is also expected to vote on recommendations for Hepatitis B vaccination in infants born to mothers who test negative for Hepatitis B surface antigen, the agenda showed.

The ACIP holds three regular meetings each year to evaluate scientific evidence and vote on vaccine guidance. Additional sessions may be convened as needed, according to the CDC.
