HAVANA, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Cuba's western region experienced a power outage Wednesday after a fault in a transmission line between two major thermoelectric plants, the Ministry of Energy and Mines said.
The failure occurred in the early morning, and officials confirmed the national grid was not completely down as the eastern system remained stable.
The country has faced repeated blackouts over the past year due to aging infrastructure and fuel shortages. ■
