ATHENS, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Greek farmers staged roadblocks at multiple points on Monday, cutting the country's main transport routes as protests over rising production costs, low product prices, and delayed aid escalated.
Blockades were set up at key transport hubs in central and northern Greece, according to the Greek national broadcaster ERT.
Authorities said the government remains open to dialogue. Local officials, including the mayor of Larissa and the regional governor of Thessaly, expressed support for farmers' concerns while condemning violence against protesters. ■
