ISLAMABAD, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's consumer price index (CPI) inflation rose by 6.1 percent year on year in November, down from 6.2 percent recorded in October, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
On a month-on-month basis, the CPI increased by 0.4 percent, compared with a 1.8 percent rise a month earlier, the PBS said in a statement.
Rural CPI inflation climbed by 6.3 percent year on year, easing from 6.6 percent in October but higher than the 4.3 percent recorded in the same month last year. Month on month, rural inflation rose by 0.2 percent, compared with a 2.3 percent increase a month earlier, the PBS added.
The sensitive price indicator (SPI), which tracks prices of essential items, rose by 4.2 percent year on year in November, down from 4.8 percent in October and 7.3 percent in the same month last year. On a monthly basis, SPI inflation increased by 0.4 percent, compared with 0.9 percent in October. ■
