NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The trading of U.S. stock futures and options was restored on Friday morning following an over ten-hour outage, according to operator CME Group.

Futures and options markets were open at 7:30 a.m. Central Time (1330 GMT) after the trading was paused at around 8:45 p.m. Central Time on Thursday (0245 GMT Friday).

"Due to a cooling issue at CyrusOne data centers, our markets are currently halted," said CME Group in an update on Thursday night.

The CHI1 data center facility in the Chicago area experienced a chiller plant failure affecting multiple cooling units, said CyrusOne.

As a leading operator of derivatives exchanges in the world, CME Group also runs the New York Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.
