BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.34 percent to 3,888.6 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.85 percent higher at 12,984.08 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.59 trillion yuan (about 224.02 billion U.S. dollars) -- down from 1.71 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to titanium dioxide and the Hainan Free Trade Port led the gains, while those related to traditional Chinese medicine and banking saw notable declines.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.7 percent to close at 3,052.59 points on Friday. ■
