HANOI, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- A total of 60 workers at a company in Vietnam's southern hub Ho Chi Minh City were hospitalized with suspected food poisoning, Vietnam News Agency reported Friday.
The patients exhibited symptoms including diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, itching, dizziness and skin rashes.
Thirty-six of them were discharged for monitoring at home, while 24 remained hospitalized for further treatment.
Doctors said a fish dish served at lunch was the suspected source of the poisoning.
In a separate incident, 19 students at a high school in the city were admitted for emergency care on Thursday night at Thu Duc area's general hospital with symptoms of anaphylaxis after their school lunch.
Doctors said the students may have experienced an allergic reaction caused by a type of fish served in their meal. ■
