BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's total trade in September reached nearly 1.7 billion Brunei dollars (1.31 billion U.S. dollars), according to the latest statistics from Brunei's Ministry of Finance and Economy.
According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin, exports were valued at 1.03 billion Brunei dollars while imports amounted to 670.7 million Brunei dollars for the month.
Mineral fuels continued to dominate export earnings, contributing 76.7 percent, followed by chemicals at 21 percent, and machinery and transport equipment at 0.9 percent.
On the import side, mineral fuels represented the biggest share at 61.6 percent. Machinery and transport equipment made up 11.7 percent, while food imports accounted for 8.1 percent. (1 Brunei dollar equals about 0.77 U.S. dollars) ■
