BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.87 percent to 3,870.02 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.53 percent higher at 12,777.31 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.81 trillion yuan (about 256 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.73 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to AI applications, computing power hardware and the anti-flu concept led the gains, while those related to animal husbandry and military equipment suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.77 percent to close at 2980.93 points. ■
