ISLAMABAD, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A total of 22 militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation by Pakistani security forces in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Tuesday.
The operation was launched in Bannu district of the province on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani army, said in a statement.
The forces engaged the militants' hideout and the terrorists were eliminated following an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR said. ■
