NEW YORK, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar edged higher in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.02 percent to 100.18 at 3 p.m. (2000 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1513 dollars from 1.1538 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to 1.3103 dollars from 1.3087 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 156.33 Japanese yen, lower than 157.54 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8078 Swiss francs from 0.8054 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.4094 Canadian dollars from 1.4091 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar added to 9.5535 Swedish kronor from 9.5446 Swedish kronor. ■
