KABUL, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least two commuters were killed and nine others injured in a traffic accident in Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of northern Afghanistan's Baghlan province, a statement of the provincial police office said Saturday.
The incident occurred when a passenger vehicle collided with another car, apparently caused by reckless driving. A child and a woman died at the scene, while nine others sustained injuries, the statement said.
According to the statement, the wounded have been transported to Baghlan's provincial hospital for medical treatment.
Road accidents remain frequent across Afghanistan, where poor road conditions, aging vehicles, and speeding often contribute to casualties. ■
