MOSCOW -- Russia is ready for a substantive discussion of the details of a new U.S.-proposed 28-point peace plan on Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.

BEIRUT -- Israeli strikes and violations have killed 331 people and injured 945 in Lebanon since a cessation of hostilities agreement took effect a year ago, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said on Friday.

DHAKA -- At least 10 people were killed and hundreds of others injured on Friday after one of the biggest earthquakes in Bangladesh's recent history struck near the capital city Dhaka.

KINSHASA -- The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) on Friday condemned a series of deadly attacks by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in eastern DRC that left at least 89 civilians dead.
