KATHMANDU, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- As many as 837,094 new voters have been registered in Nepal with the Election Commission since the announcement of the March 5 election, an official said on Saturday.
The total number of voters has exceeded 19 million for the House of Representatives polls scheduled in four months.
"However, there can be some changes in the final tally after verification," Suman Ghimire, information officer at the commission, told Xinhua, noting that most of the new voters are youths.
As many as 17.99 million voters were eligible to cast their ballots in November 2022. The number rose to nearly 18.17 million before the new election was announced on Sept. 12, 2025. ■
