ABU DHABI, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Abu Dhabi's flag carrier, Etihad Airways, announced a major expansion of its widebody fleet with the addition of 32 new Airbus aircraft, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Tuesday.

The agreement covers a mix of A350-1000s, A350F freighters and A330-900s through both direct purchases and lease commitments. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, according to WAM.

The latest commitment follows Etihad's order earlier this year for 28 additional Boeing widebody aircraft, bringing the airline's total new widebody orders in 2025 to 60 across Airbus and Boeing.

The combined order will enhance flexibility across medium-haul, long-haul and cargo operations. With the new Airbus acquisition, Etihad will operate the full range of Airbus widebody models, including the A380, the A350 family -- both passenger and freighter variants -- and the A330neo.
