HANOI, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on Sunday issued an official dispatch, urging ministries, agencies and localities to take urgent measures in response to rising floods in Vietnam's central region, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday.
The official stressed the need to ensure people's safety and minimize property damage, particularly in provinces still recovering from recent floods and landslides, the report said.
According to forecasts, heavy rainfall and flooding are expected to continue from Sunday through Thursday across several central provinces, posing a high risk of inundation and landslides. ■
