RAMALLAH, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian teenager was killed and another man wounded on Sunday during an Israeli raid in the northern West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.
Israeli forces stormed the Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the morning, opening fire and wounding two people, a 16-year-old boy in the abdomen and another man in the back, the Palestinian Red Crescent said in a press statement.
The boy then succumbed to his wound after being transported to a nearby hospital, it said.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the incident.
The West Bank has witnessed a sharp escalation of violence since Oct. 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of around 1,000 Palestinians, hundreds of injuries, and the demolition of dozens of homes, according to Palestinian statistics. ■
