JAKARTA -- Five Chinese nationals were killed and eight others injured early Friday in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Buleleng Regency in northern Bali, Indonesia, the Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar said, adding that it has activated an emergency response mechanism.

According to local police, the accident involved a minibus that crashed into a tree and tumbled down a slope at around 4:30 a.m. local time on the Denpasar-Singaraja road near Gitgit village. TOKYO -- Japanese former prime minister Shigeru Ishiba criticized current prime minister Sanae Takaichi's recent remarks regarding Taiwan during a radio appearance on Thursday.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan has arrested four members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan network involved in the recent suicide bombing at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad, the government said on Thursday.

According to details shared by the government on the social media platform X, the arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the Intelligence Bureau Division and the Counter Terrorism Department. SEOUL -- South Korea and the United States on Friday finalized their tariff and security agreement by announcing a joint fact sheet on summit talks between South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and U.S. President Donald Trump on Oct. 29.

The agreement included 150 billion U.S. dollars of South Korean investment in the shipbuilding sector approved by the United States and 200 billion dollars of additional South Korean investment, according to a memorandum of understanding about strategic investments, in exchange for lower U.S. tariffs.
