BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Lanus continued its impressive late-season form with a 3-1 home win over Atletico Tucuman in Argentina's Primera Division on Friday.
Jose Canale opened the scoring for Lanus at La Fortaleza by nodding in after Rodrigo Castillo's headed flick.
The visitors equalized through Ramiro Ruiz, who timed his run to perfection to meet Nicolas Lamendola's cross with a bullet header from the edge of the six-yard box.
Eduardo Salvio restored the hosts' lead with a powerful effort that rebounded in off the post after being palmed away by goalkeeper Matias Mansilla.
Marcelino Moreno made it 3-1 as he controlled Sasha Marcich's cross and danced around marker before curling a shot into the top-right corner.
The result leaves Lanus second in Group B, with the Buenos Aires outfit guaranteed of a place in next weekend's opening playoff round. Atletico Tucuman is 11th in the 15-team group and out of contention for the tournament's knockout stage. ■
