KABUL, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- A 70-km rural road has been inaugurated in the Miyanshin district of southern Kandahar province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced Thursday.
Constructed at a cost of 133 million afghani (about 2 million U.S. dollars), the project aims to improve transportation, enhance trade routes, and boost economic activity in the remote region, according to the ministry's statement.
During the implementation of the project, hundreds of job opportunities have been created, it said.
The Afghan government plans to launch development, agricultural, and infrastructure projects nationwide to address economic challenges and generate employment opportunities in the poverty-affected country. ■
