MOSCOW, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Russia's information technology (IT) industry has nearly doubled over the past five years, contributing 2.4 percent of the country's GDP, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Wednesday.
The IT sector remains one of the fastest-growing industries in Russia, producing increasingly competitive products, Mishustin said in his remarks at the first Russian IT forum "Digital Solutions" in Moscow.
Sales of IT services and products are steadily increasing, with sales volumes growing by more than 14.5 percent in the first half of 2025, he added.
"Considering the importance of the information technology sector for the Russian economy, we continue to support it," Mishustin said, adding that the departure of foreign companies created new opportunities for domestic IT firms. ■
