MOSCOW, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- Russia's foreign trade surplus fell 11.02 percent year-on-year to 101.7 billion U.S. dollars from January to September 2025, Russia's Federal Customs Service (FCS) said Monday.

Exports dropped by 14.7 billion dollars to 302.8 billion dollars, while imports declined by 2.1 billion dollars to 201.1 billion dollars, according to the data.

Russia's overall trade turnover between January and September decreased by 3.23 percent compared with the same period in 2024, totaling 503.9 billion dollars.

Russia's exports to Europe declined by 15.7 percent during the period, while shipments to Asia slipped slightly by 1.9 percent. Trade with Africa weakened overall despite higher imports, while exports to the Americas recorded modest growth.

According to the FCS, mineral products -- Russia's largest export category -- fell 14.3 percent year-on-year to 168.7 billion dollars. Machinery, equipment and transport vehicles remained the top category of imports, though their total value declined by 7 percent to 96.7 billion dollars.
