KABUL, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- Construction work on a new road has officially begun in Nari and Ghaziabad districts of eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported on Monday.
According to the report, the project, valued at 440 million afghani (over 6 million U.S. dollars), is expected to be completed within two years. Once finished, the new road will significantly improve local transportation and help farmers deliver their agricultural products to markets more efficiently.
The Afghan government, through the implementation of development projects in various provinces, aims to boost infrastructure, promote economic growth, and create job opportunities for local residents. ■
