BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.25 percent to 3,997.56 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.36 percent lower at 13,404.06 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at nearly 2 trillion yuan (about 282.3 billion U.S. dollars) -- down from 2.06 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to organic silicon and lithium mines led the gains, while those related to computers and transportation equipment suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.51 percent to close at 3,208.21 points on Friday. ■
