BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency and the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in Beijing on Friday, agreeing on expanding collaboration in areas such as journalist training and joint reporting.
Fu Hua, president of Xinhua, said that media cooperation constitutes an important part of people-to-people exchange, and serves as a bridge that enhances the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Fu said the two institutions should expand cooperation in various fields and promote common development through mutual learning and exchange.
Ahmed Assaf, general supervisor of Palestinian Official Media and chairman of the Board of Directors of WAFA, said that Palestine pays great attention to the development of China's media industry and technology, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with Xinhua and other Chinese media organizations. ■
